The Winkle Báltico is our best-equipped campervan and the top of the beWinkle range. Built on a Volkswagen Transporter T6, it gives you more room than any other Winkle: space for up to 5 travellers — 2 in the front cab and 3 in the back — and an up-to-date multimedia system with a sound system, CD, Bluetooth, hands-free, MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Where it really stands out is in how self-sufficient it is. Its hot water tank of up to 57 litres means all 5 of you can shower one after another without running out halfway. The solar panels charge its two powerful batteries during the day and keep generating up to 120 watts at night, even under cloud or rain. And if you stop at a campsite, the external hook-up lets you plug into the mains with no fuss.
The portable gas hob works just as well inside as out, so you can cook your best meals in the sun when the weather plays along. Since there is no good morning without good coffee, we include a coffee maker in the kit, along with pans, pots, glasses, plates and everything you need day to day. The rest of your shopping travels in its generous storage compartments or in the 50-litre fridge with a built-in freezer.
But the Báltico is not just a summer campervan: the inside is a pleasure in winter too. It has a parking heater for the rear, a Reimo rear seat with rails and semi-automatic catches, swivelling driver and passenger seats, and a folding indoor table. When night falls, the LED lighting keeps the cabin warm and welcoming.
